NYX Shocking Pink

As I have mentioned in every blog post that I published, I always keep on telling on how I'm obsessed with pink and bold lipstick. Well, who could not resist such an adorable color, it screams feminine and sweetness. As I was  browsing some Instagram shops I came through NYX lipsticks and I see that a lot are a bit fond of these brand so I fired up my search engine and look for their most popular shade and I found this NYX Matte shocking pink.

NYX lipstick in shocking pink  MLS02 (0.15oz/4.2g) is in matte finish,  it is a bright pink lipstick with purple undertone. It is highly pigmented and actually creamy. I really like it because it is matte, I really love matte-finish lipstick because their lasting power is commendable. When I wear this lipstick, it can only last for a whole day without the need of retouching. It is easy to apply and glides smoothly on my lips. It doesn't have any particular gloss or sheen in which I personally like.

It doesn't have any particular smell as well but the packaging..ah! the packaging is something that I really don't like.. This is one of the cons with this lipstick I just don't like the packaging. Some bloggers love it but I find it a bit 'cheap-looking.' It is in cylindrical form, covered with black matte plastic with the product description and ingredients written in white, at the middle you will see that it is transparent to personally show the shade of the lipstick. It is very light, really light that I'm actually scared to open it so harshly it might torned into bits and pieces. Seriously, I'm sort of disappointed with the packaging, I really hope they will change this into a better and more presentable one. However, the price is really cheap, I bought it only for P250 so basically it is understandable.

But other than the packaging,everything about this lisptick  is highly recommended; whether you are a fan of brilliant shade lipstick or not, I don't think the price will hurt if you give this one a try.

9.5/10 This is really my most favorite pink lipstick so far because formula-wise it is very opaque and pigmented, and budget-friendly. However, I have bit of issues with the packaging , as far as I want to overlook it but I'm really distracted about it.

The shade is recommended to fairly skin toned girls but I think every girl can sport this shade as long as you wear it with confidence.

Mac Show Orchid

I've been quite obsessed with pink lipsticks lately, in fact all of my last purchases were all pink- from pale to bright pinks. Maybe because, the color really suits for my age and it isn't that heavy to wear all through  day to night. Well, a girl could never go wrong with pink right?

Last February, I made an online shopping for my new Mac lippies. I bought Viva Glam Nicki Minaj and Show Orchid and both of the lipsticks are in bold pink. Honestly, I prefer bold lipsticks than nudes and subtle pinks. I find them boring and hard to pull off since I have morena skin, it is not noticeable when you wear it. I don't want to be a head turner so I just apply a small coat of the lipsticks and tada! I'm all good to go.

I'm very giddy to try Show Orchid and tell you it was love at first swipe! This is my favorite Mac lipstick I have so far, and my most favorite pink lipstick.

Show Orchid has an amplified creme finish. To tell you honestly I really don't know what it means, this is something I have yet to find out. 

One word- showstopper! That is how I describe this gorgeous lipstick. It is a vibrant fuchsia pink with an incredibly subtle sheen. It is indeed highly pigmented and to tell you one swipe is enough. Lasting power is very impressive, I can actually wear it whole day without the need of reapplication. And of course, it still has its Mac's signature vanilla scent which I actually like.

The good thing about this is that this shade is good to sport all year round however, personally this one will totally rock on summer! It's so vibrant and playful and regardless of the skin tone, this one is not that hard to pull off compared to other pink lipsticks I have owned.

9.5/10.  I almost want to give this one a 10 but because it's quite expensive so I just give it a 9.5 instead.

Will I purchase it again? Absolutely! 

If you are a fan of bold, pink lipstick like me this one must be on top of your bucket list. It's a beautiful and very buildable color.

Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj

I am not a fan of Nicki Minaj but I admit that everytime I'm watching her videos her bold and vibrant make up always caught my attention and that includes her bright, bold pink lipstick so when I heard about this Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj lipstick I started to feel excited about the shade. I  then immediately googled about it and I fell in love with the shade, it is so pretty but too bright. I was so hesitant to purchase it however a friend of mine who is a certified Mac addict recommended this shade and so I gave this one a try plus it's a limited edition. I grabbed the opportunity while it's still available in the market.

The packaging of Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj is different from the Mac permanent line of lipsticks. The box has signature of Nicki Minaj in red and the box is in matte black with a Mac logo in red as well as the inner tube and comes with the Nicki Minaj's signature as well. 

The shade is definitely a vibrant pink! Somehow a bright carnation pink. Makeup gurus describe it as cool-toned bright pink with yellow undertone. 

It is a satin finish just like Pink Noveau so it's a bit drying on lips, make sure to have your lips moisturize before applying it. Staying power is not that good, it will only last for 3-4 hours and does not wear off evenly so make sure you always have this beauty tube in your cosmetic pouch. 

It still has its signature vanilla scent just like other Mac lipsticks.

This has to be one of my favorite pink lipsticks ever. I love how this shade can really brighten up my face. It is a very playful and vivid color. They say this one is hard to pull off but I think it's how you carry it and of course with the right application. Maybe, not the everyday kind of lipstick but definitely this one is a scene- stealer, so Nicki Minaj.

Rating: 9/10:

I totally love the shade but the lasting power is not good so I gave this one a 9. Will I purchase it again? Absolutely! I am actually thinking of purchasing a back-up. :)

First Mac Lipstick: Pink Noveau

I am a pink freak but I was not really a fan of pink lipstick. I believe that red lipstick always the forever classic in terms of lip's color- it represents strength and boldness of a woman's character. I have a medium skin tone as well, playing around NC 30-35 and I don't think I can pull off a bright pink lipstick on day to day basis but because I'm such a curious cat, I love to play around and feed my curiosity.

In terms of lipstick, MAC cosmetics is always the talk of the town, but the 3g lipstick is quite expensive I don't really think I can spend a whooping Php 1000 for just a tube of a lipstick! But as I fired up my search engine I've seen such flattering swatches and so I decided to buy one.

Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Shimmers on the streets. What made M-A-C famous!

Packaging:

 The packaging really stands out among the lipsticks I owned, it looks so classy and sleek. The packaging comes with a bullet-like tube, coated with all black matte color, it is travel- friendly and super light.

Pink noveau has a satin finish, it has a cool-toned, blue based, light medium pink. They describe it as a barbie pink (think of Nicki Minaj lips), the color alone is really beautiful, highly pigmented, very flattering and not too drying since it a satin finish. It is very creamy and really smells good, it reminds me of vanilla.

No wonder this color is one of the most popular shades of Mac lipsticks and always runs out of stock.

The color alone is so bright, bold, neon-ish, barbie-ish pink. It is a very playful color. However, they said it works more on fair skin tone which I agree. The crack on your lips and flakes may appear visible so make sure your lipstick are exfoliated before wearing it. Lasting power is ok, I can wear it for 4-5 hours.

Pink noveau is a very  lovely color. Formula wise it is the best formula I ever tried so far, the price is worth it but maybe the color doesn't work for me because I do not have fair skin tone. Will I purchase it again? Maybe, if I can not find a better shade of pink than this one.

My first Mac experience is worth it and even if it is expensive I think we deserve to be pampered every once in a while. Mac is highly addictive, maybe because when you buy one shade you are urge to buy the other sets of shades until you will see yourself hoarding more than what you need.

Let's paint the lips RED

Red. It is somehow a color of passion and love. It could also turn into a color of lust and even power. In fashion, red is something that will never go out of style, whether you wear a red dress, a skyscraper red stilettos or a luscious red lipstick. Apparently, it is a universal classic.

Red is such a strong color to wear. It means power and some women view a red color as something that is hard to wear. As for me, red is couture.

Red lipstick has been so trendy these days, this is because most celebrities and supermodels wear it.
So here goes this one crazy idea from my friends: a daring and sexy photoshoot wearing deep red lippies.

So what do we have here. Let me chunky check:

• A photographer
• Outfits
• Makeups
• Location (we borrowed my husband's room for that shoot, instant)
• and of course red lippies.

The outfit. not quite obvious, I was the only one who have prepared set of outfits for the shoot. I have prepared one white dress/ lingerie, top and a skimpy shorts and brown stilettos. For Cary and Guy2 both didn't bright outfits but worse comes to worst, fashion is an art so we raid my hubby's closet and borrowed his sweatshirt. Lol.

The concept? Sexy and bold. I definitely don't have an idea how I can pull it off since I was so skinny back then but surely we have an inspiration.

The battle of the Angel Locsin inspired bedscene shoot. Caryl Vin totally rocked it and Guy killed it with her long legs and as for me I love how skinny I looked like there. Obviously, we have officially raped the queen size bed. Lol.

Because of lack of resources the bed scene concept turned out to be anything goes concept. We have utilized all the resources on that bedroom, the mirror, closet and the classic window shot.

For girls like us who do not know how to put a make up on, wearing red lipstick is such a big help. It can definitely pop up your pale skin. You don't have to wear too much make up on because your red lipstick does all the magic. 

 The very thing I envy about my friend, Cary is that she can almost do everything. Aside from being a photographer, she manages to edit the photos as well. When I first saw it, I was really laughing my ass out, but oh! well what can I say? I love it.

Here comes the teleserye royalties. 

and the cover girls. I just definitely love how an ordinary things could turn up to be so extraordinary, crazy, yet fierce with friends. You become to be the person that you are not when you are with them. You became beautiful and happy, silly and wild.

Red, vanity and friends. Three elements I have enjoyed so much on that day. In the midst, of busy life, we need times like these to loosen up our selves.

Red. It could be love or lust? A saint or a sinner? How will you wear yours?
